Alfreda Prawdzik Sherman

Alfreda (Prawdzik) Sherman, 92, of Pocono Summit, PA, fell asleep in the Lord on 1/10/21 at St. Joseph
Healthcare and Rehab in Cedar Grove, NJ. Born in Simpson, PA she also lived in Kearny, NJ and
Hollywood FL. She is predeceased by her husband Norman of 26 years and survived by children Fr.
Kenneth Sherman, St. Ann Church, Woodland Park, NJ and Janice and Peter Eckert, East Hanover, NJ,
grandchildren Daniel, Joseph and Steven and Shirley Eckert, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces
and great-nephews. Alfreda was an accomplished seamstress specializing in home furnishings and
Byzantine liturgical vesture. She was also employed locally as a waitress and in the early 1950’s by the
New Haven Railroad as a “grill car girl”, a position unique to that railroad and time. Funeral
arrangements will be private and a Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. (Memorial
