Georgette Baroisou Obituary

Georgette Baroisou, loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, went home to the Lord on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the age of 84 in Paterson, NJ.

Georgette was born in Aleppo, Syria to Hekmat and Zaheda Baroisou on February 9, 1939. She fiercely loved and cared for her family — so much so that she flew across the Atlantic Ocean multiple times to be with her children in the United States. One of the ways she expressed her love was by feeding her family. She insisted on filling them up at every meal — and would promptly get upset if you didn’t eat enough. Georgette was the beloved wife of John Khawam for 57 years. She is survived by her husband, John Khawam; daughter, Zouka Khawam; son, George Khawam; and grandchildren Michelle Khawam, Jennifer Khawam, Angela Khawam, and John Khawam.

Services for Georgette will take place on Friday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m at St. Ann’s Melkite Catholic Church in Woodland Park, NJ and will continue at Holy Sepulchre Cemetary in Totowa, NJ.
